Newmetrics respects your privacy and is committed to protecting personal data entrusted to us.
This Privacy & Cookie Notice explains how we collect, use, retain and protect personal data when you visit our website, contact us, subscribe to our communications or engage with us in relation to our professional services.
Newmetrics is a trading name used by a number of Malta-registered entities providing professional services under the Newmetrics brand.
For the purposes of applicable data protection law, including Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR) and the Data Protection Act (Chapter 586 of the Laws of Malta), NEWMETRICS CONSULTING LTD., trading as Newmetrics, is the controller of personal data collected through this website.
Details of the Newmetrics entities and their respective professional activities are available in our Legal & Regulatory Notice.
Where you engage another Newmetrics entity for professional services, that entity may separately act as controller of personal data processed in connection with that engagement. The relevant entity will normally be identified in the applicable proposal, engagement letter or other service agreement.
Our contact details are available on our Contact page.
Information we collect
When you interact with Newmetrics, we may collect information including your name, email address, telephone number, company or organisation, professional details and any information you choose to include in correspondence or an enquiry.
When you use our website, we may also collect limited technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, referral source and cookie or analytics information.
Where you become a client, additional personal information may be required to provide our services or comply with legal and regulatory obligations. Depending on the engagement, this may include identification documents, tax and financial information, corporate ownership information, banking information and customer due diligence information.
We seek to collect only information that is relevant and reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it is required.
How we use information
We may process your personal data to respond to enquiries and requests; take steps towards entering into a professional engagement; provide accounting, tax, advisory, assurance or other agreed services; manage our relationship with clients and prospective clients; fulfil legal, professional and regulatory requirements; maintain the security and proper functioning of our website and systems; and communicate relevant Newmetrics updates or insights where permitted by law.
Depending on the circumstances, processing may be based on your consent, steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests in operating and protecting our business and providing professional services.
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
Professional and regulatory obligations
Certain Newmetrics services may be subject to professional, tax, accounting, auditing and anti-money laundering requirements.
Accordingly, where applicable, we may be required by law to obtain and verify information concerning clients, beneficial owners, representatives, source of funds or source of wealth and other customer due diligence information.
We may be unable to enter into or continue a professional relationship where information required for legal or regulatory purposes is not provided.
Who we share information with
We do not sell personal data.
Where reasonably necessary, personal data may be shared with service providers supporting our business and professional activities, including IT, cloud, website, communications, banking and payment providers, as well as professional advisers.
Information may also be disclosed to public authorities, regulators or other bodies where required or permitted by law.
Where your enquiry or engagement involves another Newmetrics entity, relevant information may also be provided to that entity for the purposes of responding to your enquiry or providing the relevant professional services.
Third-party service providers processing personal data on our behalf are expected to process that information only for the relevant purposes and subject to appropriate confidentiality and data protection obligations.
International transfers
Some technology or service providers used by us may process information outside Malta or the European Economic Area.
Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, Newmetrics will seek to ensure that an appropriate legal mechanism is in place, such as an adequacy decision, appropriate contractual safeguards or another mechanism permitted under applicable data-protection law.
How long we keep information
Personal data is retained only for as long as reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected and to satisfy applicable legal, professional, regulatory and contractual obligations.
General website enquiries which do not result in an engagement will ordinarily be retained only for a reasonable period following the conclusion of the enquiry.
Client records may need to be retained for longer periods because of accounting, tax, professional, legal or anti-money laundering requirements. AML/CFT records are generally required to be retained for five years and may, in specified circumstances, be required to be retained for a longer period. FIAU MALTA
